Comparison review
Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a global score of 82.1, which is much better than the Huawei Mate 9's 73.4 overall score. Samsung Galaxy A8 Star's body is newer and just a bit thinner than the Huawei Mate 9's, although it is also just a bit heavier. The Huawei Mate 9 has just a little better performance than Galaxy A8 Star, although it has a smaller amount of RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
Galaxy A8 Star features a little sharper screen than Huawei Mate 9, because it has a little higher display density, a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2220px and a little bigger display. The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star features a slightly better memory capacity to store more games and applications than Huawei Mate 9, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal memory, the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star also has an external memory card slot that holds a maximum of 400 GB.
Huawei Mate 9 features a bit longer battery life than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh. Galaxy A8 Star has a very superior camera than Huawei Mate 9, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same (4K) video resolution, the Galaxy A8 Star also has a much larger diafragm aperture for better low light photos and videos, a much better resolution back-facing camera and a larger camera sensor taking higher quality photographs.
