Comparison review
Huawei Mate X2 is a bit better than the Sony Xperia 5, having an 89.1 score against 81. Huawei Mate X2's construction has the same thickness than the Sony Xperia 5, but it is incredibly heavier. The Huawei Mate X2 counts with a bit superior CPU than Xperia 5, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Huawei Mate X2 also has more RAM memory.
Sony Xperia 5 has a bit sharper screen than Huawei Mate X2, because although it has a really smaller screen and a much lower resolution of 1080 x 2520px, it also counts with a just a bit more pixels per display inch. The Huawei Mate X2 takes much better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller camera aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution and the same video frame rate, the Huawei Mate X2 also counts with a back-facing camera with lot more megapixels.
The Sony Xperia 5 has a little bit more memory for apps and games than Huawei Mate X2, because although it has just 128 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with an external SD slot that allows up to 512 GB. The Huawei Mate X2 counts with a really longer battery performance than Xperia 5, because it has a 43% larger battery size.
Although Huawei Mate X2 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Xperia 5, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Xperia 5. So if you need that extra features and specs, you can buy Huawei Mate X2, else you can save some money and get the Xperia 5, resigning some features and specs.
