Huawei Mate Xs is slightly better than the Galaxy M31, with a 91.6 score against 86.5. Even being the best phone in this review, the Huawei Mate Xs is a somewhat thicker and incredibly heavier phone than Galaxy M31. Huawei Mate Xs has a bit better CPU than Galaxy M31, and although they both have 8 cpu cores, the Huawei Mate Xs also has more RAM.
Galaxy M31 counts with a bit sharper screen than Huawei Mate Xs, although it has a lot worse 1080 x 2340 resolution, a just a bit worse display density and a lot smaller screen. The Samsung Galaxy M31 captures much better photos and videos than Huawei Mate Xs, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, a 0.59 inches sensor, a same size aperture and the same 30 frames per second video frame rates, the Samsung Galaxy M31 also has a much higher resolution back facing camera.
Huawei Mate Xs has a very superior storage capacity for games and applications than Samsung Galaxy M31, because although it has no SD memory card expansion slot, it also counts with 512 GB internal memory capacity. Samsung Galaxy M31 counts with better battery life than Huawei Mate Xs, because it has a 33% greater battery size.
