Huawei Ascend P1 has a general score of 56.9, which is a little bit better than the Huawei Mercury's score of 52.4. Even though Huawei Ascend P1 and the Huawei Mercury were only released with a couple of months difference, Huawei Ascend P1 is notably thinner and a lot lighter. Both phones in this review include Android OS (Operating System), but the Huawei Ascend P1 has the newer 4.0.3 version and Huawei Mercury has Android 2.3.3 version, so it offers a couple nice extra features.
The Huawei Ascend P1 has a little faster CPU than Huawei Mercury, because it has more CPU cores and 512 MB more RAM memory. Huawei Ascend P1 counts with a little more vivid screen than Huawei Mercury, because it has a bit larger screen, a bit greater screen pixels density and a little higher resolution of 960 x 540.
The Huawei Ascend P1 takes clearer pictures and videos than Huawei Mercury, and although they both have the same resolution camera in the back, the Huawei Ascend P1 also has a much better (Full HD) video quality. The Huawei Ascend P1 has a quite bigger memory to store more games and applications than Huawei Mercury, and although they both have a slot for SD memory cards that supports up to 32 GB, the Huawei Ascend P1 also has 4 GB internal memory capacity.
The Huawei Mercury counts with a bit longer battery life than Huawei Ascend P1, because it has 1900mAh of battery capacity instead of 1670mAh.
