The Huawei P40 Pro is better than the Huawei P20, getting an 88.2 score against 78.1. Huawei P40 Pro is a newer cellphone than Huawei P20, although it's somewhat thicker and a lot heavier. Both devices in this review use Android OS, but Huawei P40 Pro has the previous 10 version and Huawei P20 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
Huawei P40 Pro has a little more vivid display than Huawei P20, because it has a little bit higher resolution of 1200 x 2640, a just a little higher pixels amount in each display inch and a bit larger screen. The Huawei P40 Pro features just a little better processing power than Huawei P20, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the Huawei P40 Pro also has a larger amount of RAM.
The Huawei P40 Pro has as much memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos as Huawei P20, both of them have the same 128 GB internal storage capacity. Huawei P40 Pro counts with greater battery duration than Huawei P20, because it has 4200mAh of battery capacity instead of 3400mAh.
The Huawei P40 Pro captures a lot better pictures and videos than Huawei P20, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the Huawei P40 Pro also counts with higher video frame rates, a way more megapixels back facing camera and a much larger back camera sensor.
