The Xperia 5 III has a general score of 90.5, which is much better than the Huawei P20's 78.1 overall score. Even though the Xperia 5 III is newer than the Huawei P20, it is just a little thicker and a little bit heavier. Both phones in this review use Android OS (Operating System), but the Xperia 5 III has 11 version and Huawei P20 has Android 9.0 Pie version.
Xperia 5 III counts with a little sharper display than Huawei P20, because it has a just a bit better pixel number in each inch in the display, a little bit larger screen and a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels. The Xperia 5 III counts with a bit more powerful processing unit than Huawei P20, and although they both have a Octa-Core CPU, the Xperia 5 III also has 4 GB more RAM memory.
Sony Xperia 5 III features a way bigger storage capacity for apps and games than Huawei P20, because it has a SD memory slot that holds up to 1 TB and more internal memory capacity. Sony Xperia 5 III counts with just a bit better camera than Huawei P20, and although they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a same resolution back-facing camera, the Sony Xperia 5 III also has faster video frame rate, a lot larger back camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors and a bigger diafragm aperture to take better low-light photography and video.
The Xperia 5 III has greater battery lifetime than Huawei P20, because it has a 32% bigger battery size.
