The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is a bit better than the Huawei P30 Lite, getting a score of 82.1 against 77. Both of these phones come with the same Android 9.0 Pie OS (Operating System). Although it's the best cellphone in this review, it must be noted that it is also a somewhat heavier and just a little thicker cellphone.
Galaxy A8 Star features a bit more powerful processing unit than Huawei P30 Lite, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy A8 Star also has more RAM memory. The Huawei P30 Lite features a slightly better looking screen than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2312px and a quite higher pixel number in each inch of screen.
Huawei P30 Lite counts with a very superior storage for applications and games than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a SD card slot that holds a maximum of 512 GB and 64 GB more internal storage capacity. The Galaxy A8 Star shoots just a bit better photographs and videos than Huawei P30 Lite, because although it has a way less MP camera in the back and a much tinier camera sensor capturing less light and duller colors, it also counts with a bigger aperture to capture better low-light captures and video and a much better video quality.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with a bit superior battery life than Huawei P30 Lite, because it has an 11% greater battery size.
