Comparison review
The Sony Xperia 5 has a general score of 81, which is a little bit better than the Huawei P40 Lite's 79.5 global score. Even when the Sony Xperia 5 and Huawei P40 Lite were only released with a couple months difference, the Sony Xperia 5 is a little thinner and lighter. Sony Xperia 5 has a bit better CPU than Huawei P40 Lite. They have a 6 GB RAM and the same number of cores.
The Xperia 5 has a little more vivid display than Huawei P40 Lite, because although it has a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a just a little more pixels per inch in the display and a bit higher 1080 x 2520 resolution. Huawei P40 Lite takes better photographs and videos than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller aperture which is worse for taking photos and video in low light environments, and they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution and the same 30 frames per second video frame rate, the Huawei P40 Lite also counts with a much bigger sensor and a way higher resolution back-facing camera.
The Xperia 5 counts with a much greater memory for apps and games than Huawei P40 Lite, and although they both have exactly the same 128 GB internal memory, the Xperia 5 also has a SD memory card expansion slot that allows up to 512 GB. The Huawei P40 Lite counts with greater battery performance than Xperia 5, because it has a 34 percent more battery size.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Huawei P40 Lite, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Huawei P40 Lite. If you want to save some dollars, you can get Huawei P40 Lite, giving up a few specs and features, but you will get the most out of your budget.
