Huawei Mate 20 is much better than the Huawei P8max, getting a 79.5 score against 72.1. Both of these phones have Android OS (Operating System), but Huawei Mate 20 has the newer 9.0 Pie version while Huawei P8max has Android 5.1 Lollipop, providing the user some extra features and improved performance. Huawei Mate 20's body is extremely newer and somewhat lighter, but also somewhat thicker than the Huawei P8max.
Huawei Mate 20 has a much better looking display than Huawei P8max, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a bit higher 1080 x 2244 pixels resolution and a just a little higher screen pixel density. The Huawei Mate 20 features a little bit better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Huawei P8max, because although it has no slot for SD memory cards, it also counts with 128 GB internal storage capacity.
Huawei Mate 20 counts with a bit better performance than Huawei P8max, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Huawei Mate 20 also has more RAM. The Huawei P8max counts with a bit longer battery performance than Huawei Mate 20, because it has a 4360mAh battery size instead of 4000mAh.
