The Galaxy A8 Star has a score of 82.1, which is better than the Huawei Y9 (2019)'s global score of 73.5. Galaxy A8 Star's body is a little bit heavier but a bit thinner than the Huawei Y9 (2019), and both were released with only a few months difference. Both phones in this comparison review work with Android operating system, but Galaxy A8 Star has the newer 9.0 Pie version and Huawei Y9 (2019) has Android 8.1 Oreo, so it provides you some extra features.
