The Samsung Galaxy A12 features a bit more powerful processing unit than LG Q8, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM, the Samsung Galaxy A12 also has a greater number of cores. The LG Q8 has a lot better screen than Galaxy A12, because although it has a way smaller screen, it also counts with a lot higher 1440 x 2560 resolution and a lot greater amount of pixels per inch in the screen.
The Galaxy A12 has just a bit more storage capacity for apps and games than LG Q8, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that admits 976 GB smaller, it also counts with 32 GB more internal storage capacity. Galaxy A12 counts with a bit better camera than LG Q8, because although it has a smaller aperture, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same video quality, the Galaxy A12 also counts with a much more mega-pixels back facing camera.
