The LG V30 has an overall score of 79.1, which is a little bit better than the Samsung Galaxy J8's 76.7 general score. The LG V30 construction is lighter and a little thinner than the Samsung Galaxy J8, despite of the fact that it was released around 9 months before. The LG V30 features a much sharper screen than Samsung Galaxy J8, and although they both have a same size screen, the LG V30 also has a lot higher screen pixels density and a lot better 1440 x 2880 resolution.

LG V30 has a much bigger memory for applications and games than Galaxy J8, and although they both have the same internal storage, the LG V30 also has an external SD slot that allows up to 1,95 TB. The LG V30 counts with just a little better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy J8. Both have a 4 GB RAM and 8 cores.

Galaxy J8 features just a little better battery life than LG V30, because it has 3500mAh of battery capacity against 3300mAh. LG V30 counts with a slightly better camera than Samsung Galaxy J8, because although it has a smaller back-facing camera sensor which offers a worse image and video quality, and they both have a same resolution back facing camera, the LG V30 also counts with a bigger camera aperture to capture better low-light captures and videos and a lot higher 3840x2160 (4K) video quality.
