Comparison review

Xperia 5 has a score of 81, which is just a bit better than the Microsoft Surface Duo's 78.8 general score. Xperia 5's body is incredibly lighter than Microsoft Surface Duo, but it is much thicker and was released about 11 months before. The Sony Xperia 5 and Microsoft Surface Duo both have extremely similar processing units, both of them have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount.

The Xperia 5 has a bit sharper display than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has a much smaller screen and a much lower resolution of 1080 x 2520px, it also counts with a just a bit greater display pixel density. The Xperia 5 counts with a much better storage capacity for applications, games, photos and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage, the Xperia 5 also has an external memory slot that admits up to 512 GB.

The Xperia 5 shoots a little bit better photos and videos than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has lower video frame rate, and they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the Xperia 5 also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture to capture better captures and videos in poorly lited situations and a better 12 mega pixels resolution camera in the back.

Microsoft Surface Duo counts with just a bit longer battery duration than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 3577mAh battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Microsoft Surface Duo, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Microsoft Surface Duo. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Sony Xperia 5, but if you don't you can save some dollars and get the Microsoft Surface Duo, letting go some specifications.
