Xperia 1 has an overall score of 82.6, which is a bit better than Motorola Edge 50's 81.2 general score. The Xperia 1 is a incredibly older and a little bit thicker phone than Motorola Edge 50, but Sony made it a little bit lighter anyway. The Xperia 1 features a very superior performance than Motorola Edge 50, although it has 2 GB less RAM memory, they both have a Octa-Core processor.

The Sony Xperia 1 has a slightly better display than Motorola Edge 50, because although it has much lower brightness and a little smaller screen, it also counts with a higher resolution of 1644 x 3840 and a higher pixels count per inch of display. The Motorola Edge 50 takes better pictures and videos than Sony Xperia 1, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not favorable for low-light photos and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video resolution, the Motorola Edge 50 also counts with better 30 fps video frame rate, a lot larger back camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors and a way better resolution back-facing camera.

The Xperia 1 counts with just a bit bigger memory capacity for apps and games than Motorola Edge 50, because although it has just 128 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that holds a maximum of 512 GB. The Motorola Edge 50 counts with a very superior battery life than Xperia 1, because it has a 50 percent bigger battery capacity.
