Sony Xperia 5 is better than the Moto G Fast, having an 81 score against 72.2. Sony Xperia 5 is a somewhat lighter and thinner cellphone than Moto G Fast, even when they were only released 8 months apart. Xperia 5 has a little bit better hardware performance than Motorola Moto G Fast, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia 5 also has a larger amount of RAM.
Sony Xperia 5 features a much better looking screen than Moto G Fast, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a much better 1080 x 2520 pixels resolution and a lot better quantity of pixels per inch in the screen. Motorola Moto G Fast takes slightly better pictures and videos than Xperia 5, because although it has a smaller camera sensor which offers a worse image and video quality and a tinier camera aperture which is not so good for shooting images or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 30 fps video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Motorola Moto G Fast also counts with a back camera with a lot better resolution.
The Sony Xperia 5 counts with a lot bigger memory for games and applications than Motorola Moto G Fast, and although they both have an external memory card slot that admits a maximum of 512 GB, the Sony Xperia 5 also has 128 GB internal memory. Motorola Moto G Fast features improved battery lifetime than Xperia 5, because it has a 4000mAh battery capacity against 3140mAh.
Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Moto G Fast, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Moto G Fast. If you prefer to save some money, you can get the Moto G Fast, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
