Comparison review

Xperia XZ1 has an overall score of 78.3, which is just a bit better than the Moto G5S Plus's 74.8 overall score. Even when Xperia XZ1 and the Moto G5S Plus were released only 2 months apart, Xperia XZ1 is a lot thinner and a little lighter. Sony Xperia XZ1 features just a bit better looking display than Motorola Moto G5S Plus, because although it has a little bit smaller screen, and they both have the same 1080 x 1920 resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also counts with a quite better display density.

Xperia XZ1 counts with a bit superior processor than Moto G5S Plus. Both of them have the same number of cores and the same RAM amount. Xperia XZ1 counts with a way bigger memory to install applications and games than Motorola Moto G5S Plus, and although they both have equal internal storage capacity, the Xperia XZ1 also has an external SD slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB.

Xperia XZ1 shoots just a bit better pictures and videos than Moto G5S Plus, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality, the same video frame rates and a same size aperture, the Xperia XZ1 also has a lot more megapixels back camera. Motorola Moto G5S Plus features a bit longer battery performance than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has an 11% larger battery capacity.

Although Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Motorola Moto G5S Plus, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Motorola Moto G5S Plus. If you want to save some money, you can get Motorola Moto G5S Plus, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
