Both of these phones work with Android OS (Operating System), but the Google Nexus 5 has the older 4.4.3 version and Moto G7 has Android 9.0 Pie. Despite of the fact the Google Nexus 5 is notably older and a little thicker than the Moto G7, it's design is still noticeably lighter.

The Google Nexus 5 counts with a little bit better hardware performance than Moto G7, because although it has an inferior number of cores and a lower amount of RAM, it also counts with a graphics processing unit. Google Nexus 5 counts with a brighter display than Moto G7, because although it has a bit smaller display and a bit lower 1920 x 1080 resolution, it also counts with a little bit higher pixel density.

Motorola Moto G7 counts with a better camera than Google Nexus 5, because it has a way larger aperture to take better low-light captures and videos, a much better resolution back camera and a much higher video definition. Moto G7 features a lot bigger storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Google Nexus 5, because it has 32 GB more internal storage capacity and a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB.
