The Samsung Galaxy M31 is better than the Moto G8 Plus, having an 86.5 score against 77.6. Although the Samsung Galaxy M31 and Moto G8 Plus were released with only a few months difference, Samsung Galaxy M31's body is a little bit heavier but a little thinner than Moto G8 Plus. The Galaxy M31 features a bit superior processor than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, and although they both have 8 processing cores, the Galaxy M31 also has 2 GB more RAM.
Galaxy M31 features a slightly better looking screen than Moto G8 Plus, because it has a just a bit more pixels per inch of screen, a little higher resolution of 1080 x 2340 and a bit bigger display. Samsung Galaxy M31 features as much memory capacity for games and applications as the Motorola Moto G8 Plus one, both of them have equal internal memory and a slot for an SD memory card that supports up to 512 GB.
Galaxy M31 counts with a much better battery lifetime than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, because it has a 50 percent larger battery size. Galaxy M31 has just a bit better camera than Motorola Moto G8 Plus, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not nice for capturing pictures or video in low light situations, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, the Galaxy M31 also counts with a bigger sensor capturing better quality pictures and videos and a back-facing camera with lot more mega pixels.
