The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has an overall score of 82.1, which is slightly better than the Moto G9 Play's score of 76.7. Despite of the fact that Samsung Galaxy A8 Star is extremely older than Moto G9 Play, it's construction is just a little lighter and thinner. These phones work with Android OS, but the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a more recent 9.0 Pie version and Moto G9 Play has Android 10, providing the user lots of additional features.

The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star has a better display than Moto G9 Play, because although it has a quite smaller display, it also counts with a greater count of pixels per inch in the screen and a lot better resolution of 1080 x 2220 pixels. Moto G9 Play counts with a slightly bigger storage capacity to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have the same 64 GB internal storage capacity, the Moto G9 Play also has a slot for external memory cards that allows a maximum of 512 GB.

The Galaxy A8 Star features a little better hardware performance than Moto G9 Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Galaxy A8 Star also has a larger amount of RAM. The Motorola Moto G9 Play has superior battery life than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
