Xperia XZ1 has a general score of 78.3, which is slightly better than Moto G9 Play's 76.7 score. The Xperia XZ1 is an noticeably older device than Moto G9 Play, but Sony managed to make it extremely lighter and thinner anyway. The Xperia XZ1 counts with a brighter screen than Moto G9 Play, because although it has a way smaller display, it also counts with a better resolution of 1080 x 1920px and a much higher pixel amount per inch in the screen.

The Xperia XZ1 has a superior memory for games and applications than Motorola Moto G9 Play, and although they both have exactly the same internal memory, the Xperia XZ1 also has a slot for SD memory cards that allows up to 1,95 TB. The Xperia XZ1 features a little better processing power than Moto G9 Play. Both of them have 4 GB of RAM and a Octa-Core processing unit.

Moto G9 Play counts with a much better battery lifetime than Xperia XZ1, because it has 5000mAh of battery capacity. Moto G9 Play has a slightly better camera than Xperia XZ1, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the Moto G9 Play also has a way larger back-facing camera sensor capturing more light and vivid colors, better video frame rate, a lot more mega-pixels camera in the back and a larger aperture.
