IPhone 8 is better than Moto X (2014), getting an 85 score against 73.4. The iPhone 8 design is newer and noticeably thinner, but a bit heavier than Moto X (2014). Apple iPhone 8 has a bit better processor than Moto X (2014), because although it has doesn't have an additional GPU, and they both have the same RAM memory amount, the Apple iPhone 8 also counts with more cores and a 64-bit processing unit.

Motorola Moto X (2014) has a much better looking display than Apple iPhone 8, because it has a much higher resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, more pixels per inch in the display and a bit larger screen. IPhone 8 shoots slightly better photos and videos than Motorola Moto X (2014), because although it has a camera in the back with a lower resolution and a worse video resolution, it also counts with a bigger sensor and a larger camera aperture.

The iPhone 8 features a superior storage for applications and games than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has more internal storage. Motorola Moto X (2014) has longer battery duration than Apple iPhone 8, because it has 2300mAh of battery capacity.

Although Apple iPhone 8 is a better device, it costs a lot more than Motorola Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Motorola Moto X (2014). So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Apple iPhone 8, otherwise you can save some money and buy the Motorola Moto X (2014), letting go a couple features and specs.
