Comparison review

Sony Xperia 5 is much better than the Motorola Moto X (2014), getting a score of 81 against 73.4. The Sony Xperia 5 design is newer and somewhat thinner, but also somewhat heavier than Motorola Moto X (2014). Motorola Moto X (2014) has a little sharper display than Sony Xperia 5, although it has a little bit worse resolution of 1920 x 1080, a quite smaller screen and a little bit less pixels per display inch.

Sony Xperia 5 counts with a little better hardware performance than Moto X (2014), because although it has doesn't have an additional graphics processor, it also counts with a larger number of cores (and also faster) and 4 GB more RAM memory. The Xperia 5 has a way bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Motorola Moto X (2014), because it has a SD card slot that supports up to 512 GB and 96 GB more internal memory.

Xperia 5 features a bit better camera than Moto X (2014), because although it has a lower 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution and a worse 12 mega-pixels resolution camera, it also counts with a larger back camera sensor which gives a higher photo and video quality and a much larger aperture. The Xperia 5 has a much longer battery life than Moto X (2014), because it has a 3140mAh battery capacity.

Although Xperia 5 is a better device, it is way more expensive than the Motorola Moto X (2014), and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Motorola Moto X (2014). If you prefer to save some money, you can get the Motorola Moto X (2014), giving up a few features and specifications, but you'll get the most with your budget.
