LG Q8 has a global score of 77.2, which is a bit better than the Moto Z Play's 74.4 overall score. Both phones in this review include Android OS (operating system), but LG Q8 has older 7.0 Nougat version while Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo version. The LG Q8 is a newer and somewhat lighter cellphone than Moto Z Play, but it's also a little bit thicker.
LG Q8 has a better display than Motorola Moto Z Play, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a higher display pixel density and a better resolution of 1440 x 2560px. The LG Q8 and Moto Z Play have similar storage for apps and games, both of them have exactly the same internal memory capacity and a slot for external memory cards that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB.
The Motorola Moto Z Play features just a bit better hardware performance than LG Q8, because although it has a smaller amount of RAM, it also counts with a greater number of cores. Moto Z Play counts with a bit superior battery life than LG Q8, because it has a 17% larger battery size. The LG Q8 captures clearer photographs and videos than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality, the same resolution back facing camera and the same video frame rate, the LG Q8 also has a larger camera aperture to capture better images and videos in low light situations.
