The Microsoft Surface Duo has a global score of 78.8, which is a little bit better than the Motorola Moto Z Play's general score of 74.4. Both of these devices come with Android OS (operating system), but Microsoft Surface Duo has the older 10 version while Motorola Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo. The Microsoft Surface Duo body is extremely newer and noticeably thinner, but also heavier than the Motorola Moto Z Play.

Microsoft Surface Duo features a little more vivid display than Moto Z Play, and although they both have a greater pixels quantity in each inch in the display, the Microsoft Surface Duo also has a way larger screen and a lot better 1800 x 2700 resolution. The Microsoft Surface Duo features a little bit better performance than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Microsoft Surface Duo also has more RAM memory.

Moto Z Play features a much bigger storage to install applications and games than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has less internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD card slot that supports up to 1,95 TB. Microsoft Surface Duo features a bit longer battery performance than Moto Z Play, because it has a 3577mAh battery size instead of 3510mAh.

The Moto Z Play counts with a little bit better camera than Microsoft Surface Duo, because although it has lower 30 fps video frame rate, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality and a same size diafragm aperture, the Moto Z Play also counts with a way higher resolution camera.

Although Microsoft Surface Duo is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Moto Z Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Moto Z Play. If you are trying to save some money, you can get the Moto Z Play, giving up some specs and features, but you will get the most with your money.
