Galaxy M12 is slightly better than Moto Z Play, having an 80 score against 74.4. The Galaxy M12 construction is noticeably newer than Moto Z Play's, although it's heavier and a lot thicker. Both of these phones work with Android OS, but Galaxy M12 has older 10 version while Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo.

Galaxy M12 has a processor that's just as good as the processor in Moto Z Play, and although the Galaxy M12 has a higher amount of RAM, they both have the same number of cores. Moto Z Play features a better display than Galaxy M12, because although it has a bit smaller display, it also counts with a better amount of pixels per inch of screen and a better resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

Samsung Galaxy M12 has a bit more storage capacity to store more apps and games than Moto Z Play, because although it has a SD memory card expansion slot that supports a maximum of 1 TB against 1,95 TB, it also counts with more internal storage. The Samsung Galaxy M12 counts with a slightly better camera than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same 1920x1080 video resolution, a F2 camera aperture and the same video frame rate, the Samsung Galaxy M12 also has a way more MP camera.

Galaxy M12 features a much better battery lifetime than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has 6000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3510mAh.
