Samsung Galaxy S7 has an overall score of 79.5, which is slightly better than the Moto Z Play's score of 74.4. The Samsung Galaxy S7 design is just a bit lighter but a little bit thicker than the Moto Z Play, and they were only released with a couple of months difference. The Moto Z Play counts with a bit more powerful processor than Galaxy S7, because although it has 1 GB lesser RAM, it also counts with a greater number of cores (although slower).

The Samsung Galaxy S7 counts with a much more vibrant display than Moto Z Play, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a better number of pixels per display inch and a higher 1440 x 2560px resolution. Motorola Moto Z Play features a superior storage for applications, games, photos and videos than Samsung Galaxy S7, and although they both have the same internal memory, the Motorola Moto Z Play also has a slot for SD memory cards that holds up to 1,95 TB.

Samsung Galaxy S7 shoots just a bit better videos and photos than Motorola Moto Z Play, because although it has a lot less mega-pixels camera and a worse (4K) video resolution, it also counts with a larger aperture for better low-light photography and videos. The Motorola Moto Z Play features a bit longer battery performance than Galaxy S7, because it has a 3510mAh battery size instead of 3000mAh.

The Galaxy S7 is not only the best phones of the ones in this comparison, but it's also a lot cheaper.
