Xperia XZ2 Premium has an overall score of 82.2, which is much better than the Moto Z Play's 74.4 overall score. Xperia XZ2 Premium is a newer cellphone than the Moto Z Play, although it is much thicker and incredibly heavier. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a much more vibrant display than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has a lot higher 2160 x 3840 resolution, a little bit bigger screen and a much greater pixels quantity per inch in the display.

Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a bit superior processor than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same number of cores, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has more RAM. Moto Z Play counts with a quite bigger memory to install applications and games than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because although it has 0 less internal storage, it also counts with a slot for an SD memory card that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB.

Xperia XZ2 Premium shoots just a bit better pictures and videos than Moto Z Play, and although they both have the same 30 frames per second video frame rate and the same (4K) video quality, the Xperia XZ2 Premium also has a more megapixels back camera and a larger camera aperture to take better low-light photos and videos.

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium features a bit longer battery performance than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has a 1% larger battery capacity.

Although Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than the Motorola Moto Z Play, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the Motorola Moto Z Play. If you want to save some money, you can get Motorola Moto Z Play, and give up some specs and features, but you'll get the most with your money.
