The Xiaomi Black Shark is slightly better than Motorola Moto Z Play, getting a general score of 80.4 against 74.4. Both phones in this review come with Android OS (operating system), but the Xiaomi Black Shark has a newer 9.0 Pie version and Motorola Moto Z Play has Android 8.0 Oreo version. Although the Xiaomi Black Shark is newer than the Motorola Moto Z Play, it is somewhat heavier and notably thicker.
The Xiaomi Black Shark has a bit superior CPU than Moto Z Play, and although they both have 8 cores, the Xiaomi Black Shark also has 5 GB more RAM. Xiaomi Black Shark features a little bit better screen than Moto Z Play, because it has a quite bigger display, a bit higher display density and a bit higher 1080 x 2160px resolution.
The Motorola Moto Z Play has a much bigger memory to store more apps and games than Xiaomi Black Shark, because although it has only 32 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD memory slot that holds a maximum of 1,95 TB. Xiaomi Black Shark counts with a little longer battery duration than Motorola Moto Z Play, because it has 4000mAh of battery capacity instead of 3510mAh.
Xiaomi Black Shark takes a bit better photographs and videos than Moto Z Play, because although it has a lower (4K) video resolution and a back-facing camera with a lot worse 12 megapixels resolution, it also counts with a bigger diafragm aperture.
