Xperia 10 II's construction is way newer, but a bit heavier and extremely thicker than the Moto Z. Both devices in this review include Android OS (Operating System), but Xperia 10 II has the previous 10 version while Moto Z has Android 8.0 Oreo.
Xperia 10 II features just a bit better hardware performance than Moto Z, and although they both have 4 GB of RAM memory, the Xperia 10 II also has a higher number of cores (but slower). Motorola Moto Z features a bit more vivid screen than Xperia 10 II, because although it has a quite smaller screen, it also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch of display and a slightly better 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution.
The Moto Z features a little bit better camera than Sony Xperia 10 II, and although they both have the same (4K) video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Moto Z also has a higher resolution camera in the back and a larger aperture for better photography and videos in low-light environments.
Sony Xperia 10 II counts with a very superior memory for apps and games than Moto Z, because although it has a slot for SD memory cards that holds 1000 GB smaller, it also counts with 128 GB internal memory. The Xperia 10 II counts with a very superior battery life than Motorola Moto Z, because it has a 3600mAh battery capacity.
