Comparison review

The Xperia XZ3 is a little bit better than Motorola Moto Z, getting a score of 79.6 against 74.5. Although the Xperia XZ3 is a lot newer than Motorola Moto Z, it's notably heavier and noticeably thicker. Both phones in this review have Android OS (Operating System), but Xperia XZ3 has a more recent 9.0 Pie version while Motorola Moto Z has Android 8.0 Oreo, so it gives you a couple nice extra features and optimized performance.

Xperia XZ3 has a little faster processor than Motorola Moto Z, and although they both have a 4 GB RAM memory, the Xperia XZ3 also has a larger number of faster cores. Xperia XZ3 counts with a little bit better looking display than Moto Z, because it has a little bit higher pixels number in each inch in the screen, a quite better resolution of 1440 x 2880 and a little bit larger screen.

Motorola Moto Z counts with a little bit better memory for applications, games, photos and videos than Sony Xperia XZ3, because although it has just 32 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that holds up to 1,95 TB. The Sony Xperia XZ3 features superior battery lifetime than Moto Z, because it has a 3330mAh battery size against 2600mAh.

Sony Xperia XZ3 has a bit better camera than Motorola Moto Z, because although it has a tinier aperture, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same (4K) video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also counts with a back-facing camera with a much better 19 megapixels resolution.

Although Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Moto Z, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the Moto Z. So if you need that extra features, you can buy Xperia XZ3, otherwise you can save some dollars and buy the Moto Z, giving up some features and specifications.
