Moto Z4 has a global score of 79.8, which is just a bit better than Moto Z2 Play's global score of 77.4. Moto Z4's body is newer than the Moto Z2 Play's, but it is thicker and heavier. The Moto Z2 Play features a bit superior CPU than Moto Z4. Both of them have a 4 GB RAM memory and a Octa-Core processor.
Motorola Moto Z4 counts with a display that's very similar to the Moto Z2 Play one, although the Motorola Moto Z4 also has a slightly higher resolution of 1080 x 2340px, a little bit higher screen pixel density and a bigger display. Moto Z4 has a greater camera than Moto Z2 Play, and although they both have the same (4K) video quality, a F1.7 camera aperture and the same video frame rate, the Moto Z4 also has a back facing camera with a much better resolution.
Moto Z2 Play features a slightly better storage to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than Moto Z4, because although it has 0 less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that allows up to 1,95 TB. Moto Z4 counts with greater battery life than Moto Z2 Play, because it has a 3600mAh battery size.
Although Moto Z4 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Motorola Moto Z2 Play. So if you want that extra features, you can buy the Moto Z4, but if you don't you can save a couple dollars and get the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, resigning some specs and features.
