Comparison review

The Sony Xperia XZ1 is just a bit better than the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, having a 78.3 score against 77.4. Even being the best cellphone in this comparison, it must be noted that it is also just a little heavier and somewhat thicker. The Xperia XZ1 features a little bit better processing power than Motorola Moto Z2 Play. They have a Octa-Core processor and the same RAM amount.

The Xperia XZ1 has a bit better looking screen than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a bit smaller display, and they both have the same exact 1080 x 1920px resolution, the Xperia XZ1 also counts with a bit higher number of pixels per inch of screen. Xperia XZ1's memory capacity for apps and games is just as good as Moto Z2 Play's one, both of them have exactly the same 64 GB internal memory capacity and an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 1,95 TB.

Motorola Moto Z2 Play features a bit superior battery performance than Sony Xperia XZ1, because it has an 11% greater battery capacity. Sony Xperia XZ1 features a much better camera than Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a tinier aperture which is not good for capturing photos or video in low light situations, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video definition and the same 30 fps video frame rates, the Sony Xperia XZ1 also counts with a camera in the back with much more mega-pixels.

Although Sony Xperia XZ1 is a better device, it is a lot more expensive than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as Motorola Moto Z2 Play. If you want to save some dollars, you can get the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and give up a couple features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
