Comparison review
Sony Xperia XZ3 has a general score of 79.6, which is just a bit better than Moto Z2 Play's score of 77.4. Sony Xperia XZ3's body is newer, but much thicker and way heavier than Moto Z2 Play. Xperia XZ3 has a better display than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because it has a much higher resolution of 1440 x 2880px, more pixels per inch of display and a bit bigger screen.
Moto Z2 Play features a much bigger memory capacity to install games and applications than Sony Xperia XZ3, and although they both have exactly the same internal storage capacity, the Moto Z2 Play also has a slot for an external memory card that admits a maximum of 1,95 TB. Xperia XZ3 counts with a bit faster processing unit than Motorola Moto Z2 Play. Both of them have the same number of cores and 4 GB of RAM.
The Sony Xperia XZ3 has a much better camera than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, because although it has a smaller diafragm aperture which is not so good for low-light images and video, and they both have the same video frame rate and the same video resolution, the Sony Xperia XZ3 also counts with a camera in the back with lot more MP.
Sony Xperia XZ3 has just a little bit longer battery lifetime than Moto Z2 Play, because it has an 11 percent bigger battery capacity.
Although Sony Xperia XZ3 is a better device, it is way more expensive than Motorola Moto Z2 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as Motorola Moto Z2 Play. So if you need that extra specs and features, you can buy Sony Xperia XZ3, otherwise you can save some money and get the Motorola Moto Z2 Play, giving up a couple features and specifications.
