The Sony Xperia 5 has an overall score of 81, which is just a bit better than the Moto Z3 Play's score of 76.3. Sony Xperia 5's body is newer, but somewhat thicker and just a little heavier than Moto Z3 Play. Xperia 5 counts with a bit better performance than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, and although they both have 8 CPU cores, the Xperia 5 also has more RAM memory.

The Xperia 5 has a slightly better display than Moto Z3 Play, because it has a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2520, a little bit larger display and a quite higher pixel density. The Xperia 5 has a bit superior battery performance than Motorola Moto Z3 Play, because it has a 5 percent greater battery capacity.

Although Sony Xperia 5 is a better device, it costs a lot more money than Moto Z3 Play, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as the Moto Z3 Play. If you prefer to save a few dollars, you can buy the Moto Z3 Play, and give up a few features and specs, but you will get the most with your budget.
