Xperia XZ1 has a global score of 78.3, which is slightly better than Nokia 7.2's 75.9 general score. Even though Xperia XZ1 is noticeably older than Nokia 7.2, it's construction is lighter and a bit thinner. Xperia XZ1 has a bit sharper display than Nokia 7.2, because although it has a bit smaller screen and a quite lower resolution of 1080 x 1920, it also counts with a just a bit better pixel density.
Sony Xperia XZ1 counts with just a bit more storage capacity for apps and games than Nokia 7.2, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with an external memory card slot that allows a maximum of 1,95 TB. The Xperia XZ1 features a little faster CPU than Nokia 7.2, although it has less RAM memory, they both have the same number of cores.
Sony Xperia XZ1 captures clearer photos and videos than Nokia 7.2, because although it has a lot less mega-pixels resolution back facing camera, a tinier diafragm aperture which is not recommended for shooting images and videos in low-light situations and a smaller back camera sensor, it also counts with a much higher 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution.
