Huawei P40 is much better than the Nokia 8.1, getting a score of 86.4 against 72.1. Both of these devices come with the same Android 10 OS, so you shouldn't notice any difference regarding OS features. The Huawei P40 body is newer and a little bit lighter than the Nokia 8.1's, but it is also a little thicker.
Huawei P40 has a bit sharper display than Nokia 8.1, because although it has a little bit smaller display, it also counts with a just a bit more pixels per inch in the screen and a slightly higher 1080 x 2340px resolution. Nokia 8.1 has more memory to install applications and games than Huawei P40, because although it has just 64 GB internal memory capacity, it also counts with a slot for SD memory cards that allows a maximum of 400 GB.
The Huawei P40 counts with a bit faster CPU than Nokia 8.1, and although they both have 8 cores, the Huawei P40 also has a greater amount of RAM memory. Huawei P40 takes much clearer pictures and videos than Nokia 8.1, because although it has a tinier diafragm aperture which is not nice for taking photographs and/or video in poorly lited environments, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video definition, the Huawei P40 also counts with faster 60 fps video frame rate, a way bigger sensor and a camera in the back with a lot higher resolution.
Huawei P40 has a bit better battery performance than Nokia 8.1, because it has a 9 percent larger battery size.
