Xperia 5 is a little bit better than the Nokia 9 PureView, getting a general score of 81 against 76.4. Even though the Xperia 5 and the Nokia 9 PureView were only released with a couple months difference, Xperia 5's construction is a little thicker but just a bit lighter. Nokia 9 PureView features a slightly better looking screen than Sony Xperia 5, because although it has a little smaller display, it also counts with a bit higher pixels amount in each inch of display and a better resolution of 1440 x 2880.
Xperia 5 features a way bigger memory capacity for games and applications than Nokia 9 PureView, and although they both have the same internal storage, the Xperia 5 also has an external memory slot that supports a maximum of 512 GB. Sony Xperia 5's CPU is very similar to the Nokia 9 PureView one, they have a Octa-Core CPU and 6 GB of RAM memory.
Nokia 9 PureView counts with just a little better battery lifetime than Sony Xperia 5, because it has a 6 percent bigger battery size. Sony Xperia 5 takes a bit better photographs and videos than Nokia 9 PureView, and although they both have the same video frame rate, a 12 mega-pixels back facing camera and the same (4K) video quality, the Sony Xperia 5 also has a bigger aperture and a larger back-facing camera sensor which provides a higher photo and video quality.
The Sony Xperia 5 costs more than the Nokia 9 PureView, but it's still a good choice, because you can get a lot more features for that extra money.
