The Sony Xperia Ion is a just a bit thinner and a little lighter phone than Lumia 900, although both were released with only a few months difference. The Sony Xperia Ion counts with Android 4.1.2 OS, and Lumia 900 has Windows Phone 7.8, 7.5 Refresh, 7.5 Mango OS.

Sony Xperia Ion counts with a little better hardware performance than Lumia 900, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher amount of RAM and a larger number of cores. Xperia Ion features a better looking display than Lumia 900, because it has a little bigger display, a lot better display pixels density and a way better resolution of 1280 x 720px.

Nokia Lumia 900 captures much better photographs and videos than Xperia Ion, although it has a lot worse video quality and a back facing camera with a much worse 8 mega pixels resolution. The Xperia Ion features a much bigger memory capacity to store more games and applications than Nokia Lumia 900, and although they both have the same 16 GB internal storage capacity, the Xperia Ion also has a slot for SD memory cards that holds up to 32 GB.

Xperia Ion features just a bit better battery life than Nokia Lumia 900, because it has a 4% bigger battery size.

Despite of being the best phone in our current comparison, Sony Xperia Ion is also cheaper.
