The HTC One design is lighter and just a little thinner than the Lumia 928, although they were only released 3 months apart.

HTC One counts with a little bit better processing power than Nokia Lumia 928, and although they both have a 400 MHz graphics co-processor, the HTC One also has more RAM memory and a greater number of cores (and also faster). The HTC One has a bit sharper screen than Nokia Lumia 928, because it has a much higher resolution of 1920 x 1080, a better pixels count in each display inch and a little bit larger display.

The HTC One features as much memory capacity to install applications and games as the Lumia 928, they have equal 32 GB internal storage. HTC One features a bit longer battery life than Lumia 928, because it has a 2300mAh battery size. The Lumia 928 has a little bit better camera than HTC One, and although they both have a 0.33 inches camera sensor, the same 30 fps video frame rates, a F2 aperture and the same 1920x1080 (Full HD) video definition, the Lumia 928 also has a back camera with way more mega pixels.

Even being the best phone in this comparison, HTC One is also cheaper than the other phone, which makes this phone a simple decision.
