Comparison review

Huawei Mate 9 Pro is slightly better than the OnePlus 8, with a overall score of 78.7 against 76. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro body is just a bit lighter and a bit thinner than OnePlus 8, although it was released 3 years before. OnePlus 8 counts with a bit sharper display than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because although it has a quite lower 1080 x 2400px resolution and a little lower screen pixel density, it also counts with a larger display.

The OnePlus 8 has a little bit better performance than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 8 also has a greater amount of RAM. Huawei Mate 9 Pro's memory capacity for apps and games is just as good as OnePlus 8's one, both of them have exactly the same internal storage capacity.

OnePlus 8 captures way better photographs and videos than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, and although they both have the same video definition, the OnePlus 8 also has faster 60 fps video frame rates, a lot higher 48 mega-pixels resolution back camera, a much bigger sensor which gives a much higher photo and video quality and a bigger camera aperture.

OnePlus 8 counts with a little better battery lifetime than Huawei Mate 9 Pro, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity against 4000mAh.

Although Huawei Mate 9 Pro is a better device, it is way more expensive than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as the OnePlus 8. So if you need that extra specs, you can buy Huawei Mate 9 Pro, but if you don't you can save some money and buy the OnePlus 8, giving up a couple specs and features.
