Comparison review
Xperia 1 VI has a global score of 83.2, which is a bit better than OnePlus 8's overall score of 76. Xperia 1 VI's body is a lot thinner and noticeably lighter than the OnePlus 8. The OnePlus 8 has a slightly better screen than Xperia 1 VI, although it has a much lower screen density, a way worse 1080 x 2400 resolution and a bit smaller display.
The Sony Xperia 1 VI features a much bigger memory for games and applications than OnePlus 8, because it has a SD extension slot that holds up to 1 TB and more internal storage capacity. OnePlus 8 counts with a very superior processing unit than Xperia 1 VI, although it has a smaller amount of RAM, they both have a Octa-Core processing unit.
Sony Xperia 1 VI features superior battery duration than OnePlus 8, because it has a 16 percent more battery capacity. The Sony Xperia 1 VI takes clearer photographs and videos than OnePlus 8, because although it has a tinier camera aperture which is not favorable for low light photos and videos, and they both have the same 3840x2160 video quality and the same resolution back-facing camera, the Sony Xperia 1 VI also counts with higher 120 frames per second video frame rate and a much larger camera sensor taking more light and vivid colors.
