Comparison review

The Xperia 5 II is much better than the OnePlus 8, getting an 87.2 score against 76. The Xperia 5 II design has the same thickness than OnePlus 8, but it's just a little lighter. The OnePlus 8 has a slightly better looking screen than Xperia 5 II, because although it has a quite lower 1080 x 2400 resolution and a just a little lower screen pixels density, it also counts with a little bit bigger display.

Xperia 5 II's processing unit is very similar to the OnePlus 8 one, they have a 8 GB RAM and the same number of cores. Xperia 5 II has a way bigger storage capacity for games and applications than OnePlus 8, and although they both have the same 128 GB internal memory capacity, the Xperia 5 II also has a slot for an SD memory card that holds a maximum of 1000 GB.

OnePlus 8 shoots much clearer photographs and videos than Sony Xperia 5 II, because although it has lower video frame rates, a smaller camera sensor which provides a lower image and video quality and a tinier aperture, and they both have the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 also counts with a back camera with lot more megapixels.

The OnePlus 8 has a bit superior battery life than Sony Xperia 5 II, because it has an 8% more battery capacity.

Although Xperia 5 II is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good relation between it's price and quality as OnePlus 8. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the OnePlus 8, giving up a couple features, but you will get the most out of your savings.
