The Xperia XZ2 Compact is a little bit better than the OnePlus 8, having a general score of 79 against 76. The Xperia XZ2 Compact is a older and incredibly thicker phone than the OnePlus 8, but Sony was able to build it a little lighter anyway. The OnePlus 8 features a bit more powerful processor than Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 8 also has 4 GB more RAM memory.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact has a slightly better display than OnePlus 8, because although it has a lot smaller screen, a lot darker screen and a bit worse resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels, it also counts with a little bit more pixels per inch of display. The OnePlus 8 has a much better camera than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, and although they both have the same video frame rates and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 also has a bigger back camera sensor which provides a higher photo and video quality, a back camera with lot more megapixels and a bigger diafragm aperture.
The Xperia XZ2 Compact features more storage for applications and games than OnePlus 8, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage capacity, it also counts with a SD extension slot that supports a maximum of 400 GB. OnePlus 8 counts with a much longer battery life than Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact, because it has a 4300mAh battery size.
