Comparison review

Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is slightly better than the OnePlus 8, with a score of 82.2 against 76. Despite being the best phone in this comparison, we must highlight that it's also older, notably thicker and notably heavier. Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a better display than OnePlus 8, because although it has a little darker screen and a bit smaller screen, it also counts with a much better resolution of 2160 x 3840px and way more pixels per display inch.

Xperia XZ2 Premium and OnePlus 8 both have very similar CPUs, and although the Xperia XZ2 Premium has 2 GB lesser RAM, they both have 8 processing cores. The Xperia XZ2 Premium counts with a bigger memory capacity to install games and applications than OnePlus 8, because although it has just 64 GB internal storage, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that allows up to 400 GB.

The OnePlus 8 features superior battery lifetime than Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, because it has 4300mAh of battery capacity. The OnePlus 8 has a superior camera than Xperia XZ2 Premium, and although they both have the same diafragm aperture and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 also has faster video frame rate, a camera with a much better 48 mega pixels resolution and a bigger back camera sensor taking higher quality photos.

Although Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium is a better device, it costs a lot more money than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good price and quality relation as OnePlus 8. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can get the OnePlus 8, giving up a few features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
