The Xperia Z5 is slightly better than the OnePlus 8, with a 77.6 score against 76. The Xperia Z5 is an much older cellphone than the OnePlus 8, but it is somewhat lighter and a bit thinner anyway. The Xperia Z5 features a little sharper screen than OnePlus 8, because although it has a lot smaller screen and a bit worse resolution of 1920 x 1080, it also counts with a bit higher count of pixels in each inch of screen.

The OnePlus 8 has a bit better performance than Sony Xperia Z5, because although it has doesn't have a graphics processor, and they both have a Octa-Core processor, the OnePlus 8 also counts with a higher amount of RAM memory. The OnePlus 8 counts with a very superior battery performance than Xperia Z5, because it has a 48% larger battery capacity. The OnePlus 8 features a much better camera than Xperia Z5, and although they both have a same size aperture and the same 3840x2160 (4K) video quality, the OnePlus 8 also has a larger sensor shooting higher quality pictures and videos, a back facing camera with way more megapixels and higher 60 fps video frame rate.

Although Xperia Z5 is a better device, it costs more money than OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the OnePlus 8. If you are trying to save some money, you can buy the OnePlus 8, and give up a couple features and specs, but you'll get the most with your money.
