Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is just a bit better than the OnePlus 8, getting a general score of 81.2 against 76. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 design is a little thinner than the OnePlus 8, although it is just a bit heavier and was released 3 years before. The OnePlus 8 has a much better display than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, because it has a bit more pixels per inch of screen, a bit larger screen and a slightly better resolution of 1080 x 2400.
The OnePlus 8 counts with a bit faster CPU than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, and although they both have 8 cores, the OnePlus 8 also has a larger amount of RAM. The OnePlus 8 shoots much clearer pictures and videos than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, and although they both have the same (4K) video resolution, the OnePlus 8 also has a lot higher resolution camera, a lot larger back-facing camera sensor capturing much better quality photos, a bigger aperture for better photography and videos in low light environments and higher video frame rates.
The Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 counts with a superior memory to store more apps and games than OnePlus 8, because it has more internal storage capacity. OnePlus 8 features longer battery duration than Xiaomi Mi MIX 2, because it has a 4300mAh battery capacity instead of 3400mAh.
Although Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 is a better device, it costs a lot more than the OnePlus 8, and it doesn't have such a good quality/price relation as the OnePlus 8. If you prefer to save some dollars, you can buy the OnePlus 8, letting go a couple features, but you will get the most with your savings.
