OnePlus 8 is a much newer phone, and it's also just a bit thinner and just a little lighter than the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro. The OnePlus 8 features a little bit better hardware performance than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, and although they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 8 also has a larger amount of RAM.
The OnePlus 8 features a better display than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a bit larger display, a quite better resolution of 1080 x 2400 and a quite better pixels amount per inch of display. OnePlus 8 takes a lot better videos and photos than Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, because it has a lot better video resolution, a bigger aperture for better low-light captures and a much more mega-pixels camera.
