The Galaxy A40 is a bit better than the OnePlus 9 Pro, getting a 79.6 score against 76.6. Although Galaxy A40 is older than OnePlus 9 Pro, it's design is a bit thinner and lighter. Both phones in this review come with the same Android 11 OS (operating system), so you shouldn't notice any difference in that aspect.
The OnePlus 9 Pro features a bit better hardware performance than Samsung Galaxy A40, and although they both have the same number of cores, the OnePlus 9 Pro also has a higher amount of RAM memory. The OnePlus 9 Pro has a slightly better looking display than Galaxy A40, because it has a better 1440 x 3216 resolution, a just a little greater pixels density and a quite bigger display.
The OnePlus 9 Pro shoots much clearer photos and videos than Galaxy A40, because although it has a tinier aperture, it also counts with a lot bigger sensor which gives a lot higher photo and video quality, a lot more mega-pixels camera in the back and a lot better 7680x4320 video resolution. The Samsung Galaxy A40 features a bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than OnePlus 9 Pro, because although it has less internal storage capacity, it also counts with a slot for an external memory card that allows a maximum of 512 GB.
The OnePlus 9 Pro counts with a much better battery life than Galaxy A40, because it has a 4500mAh battery capacity.
