The Galaxy A8 Star is slightly better than the OnePlus 9, getting an 82.1 score against 76. Both devices in this review use Android OS (Operating System), but Galaxy A8 Star has a newer 9.0 Pie version while OnePlus 9 has Android 11, providing a couple additional features. The Galaxy A8 Star design is just a little lighter and thinner than OnePlus 9, even though it was released 3 years before.
OnePlus 9 has a little more vivid display than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has a little bit higher resolution of 1080 x 2400, a just a little higher pixels amount in each display inch and a bit larger screen. The OnePlus 9 features just a little better processing power than Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, and although they both have a Octa-Core processing unit, the OnePlus 9 also has a larger amount of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy A8 Star counts with a bigger memory to install applications and games or saving photos and videos than OnePlus 9, because although it has only 64 GB internal memory, it also counts with a SD memory card expansion slot that allows up to 400 GB. OnePlus 9 counts with greater battery duration than Galaxy A8 Star, because it has 4500mAh of battery capacity instead of 3700mAh.
The OnePlus 9 captures a lot better pictures and videos than Galaxy A8 Star, because although it has a tinier aperture, it also counts with a way more megapixels back facing camera, a way higher video quality and a much larger back camera sensor.
