The Samsung Epic 4G Touch is slightly better than Samsung Captivate, with a overall score of 60.8 against 57.2. Although Samsung Epic 4G Touch is a bit heavier than Samsung Captivate, it's a little thinner and newer. Both devices in this review include Android operating system, but Samsung Epic 4G Touch has newer 4.1.2 version and Samsung Captivate has Android 2.3 version, offering a couple additional features and enhanced performance.
The Samsung Captivate has a slightly better screen than Samsung Epic 4G Touch, because although it has a little smaller display, and they both have exactly the same 800 x 480 resolution, the Samsung Captivate also counts with a quite better screen pixels density. The Samsung Captivate's storage capacity to install games and applications is just as good as Samsung Epic 4G Touch's one, both of them have a SD memory card expansion slot that admits a maximum of 32 GB and the same 16 GB internal memory capacity.
The Samsung Epic 4G Touch features a bit faster processor than Samsung Captivate, because although it has doesn't have an extra graphics processing unit, it also counts with a higher number of faster cores and more RAM. The Samsung Epic 4G Touch shoots much better photos and videos than Samsung Captivate, because it has a much better 8 MP resolution back-facing camera and a much better 1920x1080 (Full HD) video resolution.
The Samsung Epic 4G Touch has improved battery performance than Samsung Captivate, because it has a 1800mAh battery capacity.
